Electrical Available in 1/8 single phase, 1/2 single phase, or 1/240 single phase Require 3 wires ground I take that to mean you have to select the voltage, NOT that it can be used on any of them "Life is hard Life is harder when you're stupid" John Wayne Save Share Reply S ShaneM Registered Joined 4 Posts Discussion Starter #12
120/208 single phase panel-Or are 1/240 and 1/8 4jaw meters basically interchangeable? When using 1/8V single phase, you will use any two of those same three hot conductors, with the two waveforms peaking 1 degrees apart from each otherWhen one waveform is at its peak, measuring 1V, the other is only part of way through its cycle, measuring only V The sum of the two is 8V

1/8 single phase panel 1/8 single phase panel Each leg (phase) provides power (phase voltage) at a unique angle (phase angle) to the center (neutral) 8V 3 Phase power also goes by the names 8V 3 Phase 4 Wire and 8Y/1V These are technically more accurate because they refer to the neutral The "4 Wire" in 8V 3 Phase 4 Wire refers to the neutral as 4th wire1 Answer1 1/240V is a 240V single phase supply, center tapped to produce a "split phase" with 1V between either side to neutral, and 240V between the two hot lines 1/8V is two phases from a threephase supply There is 1V from either phase to neutral, and 8V between the phases Share Improve this answer answered at 1606 Simon B
